A Step Towards Circular Innovation: Upcycled, Local + Handmade Cosmetic Bags

We are pleased to announce the introduction of our circular cosmetic bags, crafted from repurposed materials. This project, a result of a year of development, highlights our commitment to sustainability and efficiency.

Economic Viability and Market Insights

The initial batch of our cosmetic bags has a cost of goods sold (COGS) of €5, with a retail price estimated around €50. This pricing strategy was informed by market research targeting purpose-driven consumers, ensuring alignment with current market expectations for sustainable products.

Design for Longevity

Our cosmetic bags are engineered for durability, supporting our circular economy model. Customers are encouraged to return their bags for a discount on a new one, thus extending the product lifecycle and reinforcing our commitment to reducing waste.

Acknowledgements

This initiative benefited greatly from the support of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and the collaboration of key partners:

  • Atelier Jungles - Textiel Upcycling (Giselle van der Star)
  • PALANTA.CO (Sara Devenyi)
  • Martina Novakova

Their expertise was crucial in realizing this project.

Future Directions

Our next phase involves developing circular skincare solutions using otherwise wasted materials and ingredients. This continued focus on circularity reflects our dedication to advancing sustainable practices within the beauty industry.
